Some Episode 4 and 5 Dishes

Tea. This is actually a dark chocolate infused black tea. Very nice.

Another risotto.  This one is chicken risotto with zucchini and asparagus.

Turkey melt with lemon and cayenne pepper.
Some hothouse tomatoes for my tomato salad.

Two Dishes

This recipe was very simple and quite nice, although I'm not sure it quite turned out the way it was supposed to for my fear of burning the butter.  I don't think it was quite as brown as it was supposed to be.  It was sort of weird eating pasta coated in butter, which is essentially what the sauce is.  Today's healthy eating advice doesn't quite fit with such a recipe, but enjoyable all the same.

Sweet Potato Risotto (Risotto 2)
My second risotto. Remember the episode where Sookie makes her famous risotto and it gets a 'fine' review.  She tries forty different risottos just to check that hers really is the best, so this is number two of forty! Really nice, but I think I could have darken the bacon a bit more ;).

Doublemint

I ended up having to buy a whole box of this chewing gum just to try it as it isn't generally sold here in Aus, so still working my way through it years later.  I'm not used to gum with sugar in it and so don't like to chew too much of this stuff for fear of rotting my teeth ;).  We mostly just have artificially sweetened gum here, which probably damages all other parts of my body, but spares my teeth ;) so there you go.

Mushrooms, Trout and Reisling

A lovely meal.  The trout was beautiful, but the recipe left the mushrooms with a little too much lemony zing.  I feel a bit gourmet eating such fair, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Melon Medley

I wasn't sure which type of melon was referred to so...

A couple of Episode 4 foods

Classic Crisps

Pizza
Rice Cake

Cassoulet

A trip to Melbourne and a visit to Chez Olivier saved me from having to recreate this complex dish - spiced sausage, duck, pork and beef along with beans.  Such a high calorie, high fat, high protein dish took no time to fill me up and I wasn't able to finish it. It had a stewy meat broth sauce along with the tastes of the various meats.  I quite enjoyed it, but felt like I wanted to put some veggies in to add colour to the dish.

Episode 2 Complete

And she has finished episode two! Yay.  Decaf coffee made in my recently bought coffee machine and a baked potato. Yum!

Peaches and Cream

I actually made this ice-cream! It's surprisingly simple, yet a bit time consuming. I found this recipe a little too sweet.  I love my ice-cream super creamy, but still tasted great and much better for me, considering the number of preservatives and chemicals you can find in bought ice-cream.  It's not as morish too, so I only ate a small amount at a time. I find it hard to stop eating bought ice-cream.  I'm not sure if that's because it is so much more creamy or I wonder if there is some chemical in it that makes you want to eat more and more.  Underneath my homemade ice-cream is some fresh peach. White and yellow.  Delicious!
